The 2010 YR Campaign Kickoff in Owatonna was exactly what one of these events should be about: fun, hard work, and getting GOPers elected. By Wednesday we'll know if we went 3/3, but we definitely hit the 'fun' and 'hard work' part. The Parry campaign staff was well organized and gave us a list of targeted houses to door-knock at. This enabled us to break into teams where we could stay warm in our cars and tag-team different houses throughout the neighborhood(s). Though we may have gone off-roading at one point (ahem), that didn't deter us from hitting a hundred more residencies after. At night, the Parry staff and YRs took to local watering holes where we dined on greasy food, Summit Beers, and Iced Tea (ok, that was just for me). After we were kicked out of our second drinking establishment that night (I kidd), we called it a night. For those that could not make it, there's both bad a good news. The bad? Well, you missed the self-satisfaction of campaigning if 30-degree weather, braving the cold for a good conservative candidate. Now the good? They'll be PLENTY more campaigning left to do this year; more than enough chances to help get involved. This year, 2010, will be one of the most important campaign seasons within your tenure as YRs; you will want to be able to look back and say 'I had a part in keeping Minnesota a Red State'. MNYR gives you this opportunity. I invite you to check out some of the pics on our site and we'll see you at the next one. Dave Berdass MNYR Chairman
