John Adams Society Debate

THE CHAIRMAN, whose claims of being Irish are pure blarney, has called a debate to settle the question: “Resolved: Green is Just Another Shade of Red.”

Date: Wednesday, March 17th

Time: 7:00 PM

Location: University Club (420 Summit Ave, St. Paul)

The Chancellor will preside over drinks beginning at seven o'clock p.m.  The debate will begin at half past seven.  While there is no dress code for attendance, gentlemen who wish to speak must wear a tie; ladies should adhere to a similar sartorial standard.  For those gentlemen who arrive tieless yet wish to speak, fret not: the Purveyor of Ties will keep on hand at least one of his quite remarkable ties for just such an eventuality.

Questions about debate caucus procedures or about the John Adams Society itself may be directed to the Chairman at (612) 384-6776 or the Secretary at (952) 887-2553.

America’s Future Foundation Happy Hour

Join America’s Future Foundation for a private movie screening of Not Evil, Just Wrong and free appetizers.

Date: Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Time: 5:30 PM

Location: Seven Sushi UltraLounge (700 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis)

The mission of America’s Future Foundation is to identify and develop the next generation of conservative and libertarian leaders. We work to build a nationwide network of young professionals who are committed to the principles of limited government, free markets, and personal responsibility.

AFF’s occupies a unique niche. Many conservative and libertarian organizations target college students to teach the first principles of a free society and offer professional training for first jobs. AFF is the only organization that targets professionals in their 20s and 30s in their second stage of development as leaders.

Throughout the course of his first year in office, President Barack Obama has pursued an aggressive agenda of government spending to prop up the faltering economy. He’s worked hard to establish government-controlled health care. With the nation beginning to emerge from the worst fi nancial crisis in nearly seventy years, how strong will the economy be in 2010? Have the billions of dollars of government spending saved American industry or has the door been opened to socialism?

President Obama’s approval ratings continue to slide while the Republican Party seems to be showing signs of life. Has President Obama overreached in his first term? How will his aggressive agenda of government spending and control affect the prospects of Congressional Democrats for the mid-term elections this November? Will 2010 be a repeat of the Republican Revolution of 1994? Join us in a nation wide tour as Hugh Hewitt and Michael Medved express their opinions.
