Congratulations to Mike Parry! PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday was an exciting day for the Minnesota Young Republicans, and Minnesotans as a whole.  We would like to officially take this chance to congratulate Senator Parry on his victory!  His victory is also a victory for the people of Minnesota.  With the budget woes facing the people of Minnesota, strong conservatives like Parry are absolutely necessary to prevent the DFL from raising taxes.

As you should well know, the Young Republicans were quick to endorse Mike Parry for the January 26th special election for Senate District 26.  In our first big campaign push of 2010, the YR’s teamed up and drove down to Faribault to help door-knock and lit-drop for Parry.  Our efforts, along with the efforts of donors, campaign volunteers, campaign staff, and the Republican Party of Minnesota helped convince the people of Senate District 26 that Mike Parry was the clear choice!

2010 is a pivotal year in Minnesota, and the country as a whole.  With electoral successes like Bob McDonnell’s in Virginia, Chris Christie’s in New Jersey, Scott Brown’s in Massachusetts, and now Mike Parry’s in Minnesota, 2010 is shaping up to be a turning point in American politics.  To keep this momentum going, your time and support is needed now more than ever.

If you have questions about how to get more involved with YR campaign events, so that you can help make a difference this pivotal year, please talk to your local club chair.  Let’s keep the momentum going!

Roadtrip Recap: Message from the Chairman PDF Print E-mail
The 2010 YR Campaign Kickoff in Owatonna was exactly what one of these events should be about: fun, hard work, and getting GOPers elected.  By Wednesday we'll know if we went 3/3, but we definitely hit the 'fun' and 'hard work' part.  The Parry campaign staff was well organized and gave us a list of targeted houses to door-knock at.  This enabled us to break into teams where we could stay warm in our cars and tag-team different houses throughout the neighborhood(s).  Though we may have gone off-roading at one point (ahem), that didn't deter us from hitting a hundred more residencies after.

At night, the Parry staff and YRs took to local watering holes where we dined on greasy food, Summit Beers, and Iced Tea (ok, that was just for me).  After we were kicked out of our second drinking establishment that night (I kidd), we called it a night.

For those that could not make it, there's both bad a good news.  The bad?  Well, you missed the self-satisfaction of campaigning if 30-degree weather, braving the cold for a good conservative candidate.  Now the good?  They'll be PLENTY more campaigning left to do this year; more than enough chances to help get involved.  This year, 2010, will be one of the most important campaign seasons within your tenure as YRs; you will want to be able to look back and say 'I had a part in keeping Minnesota a Red State'.  MNYR gives you this opportunity.

I invite you to check out some of the pics on our site and we'll see you at the next one.

Caucus Training PDF Print E-mail

2010 is a crucial election year in Minnesota.  Democrats will try their very best to hold onto their seats in the Minnesota legislature, take away some Republican Congressional seats, and depending on the results of the 2010 census, may even try to redraw the Minnesota Congressional Districts so that no Republican is ever elected to the House of Representatives ever again.

With these concerns in mind, the Young Republicans are hosting caucus training.  Information about the event can be found below.  If you have a spare hour, make sure to attend this crucial training session so that you can make a tangible impact at February's caucuses.

Caucus Training

Date: Tuesday, January 26th

Time: 7:00pm

Location: Park Tavern (3401 Louisiana Ave. S., St. Louis Park)

The 2010 Caucuses are convening on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Do you know where they will be taking place? Do you know what the caucuses are? Do you want to learn how to get involved with your caucus and have a real voice in the Minnesota GOP? Come out to our Caucus Training at Park Tavern to get the answers to these questions and learn everything you’ll need to know.

YRs endorse Mike Parry for SD 26 PDF Print E-mail

On Monday, December 28th, grassroots GOP activists in Minnesota's Senate District 26 endorsed Mike Parry in the special election at the end of this month. The election is being held on January 26th to replace incumbent Dick Day (R) who stepped down to help lobby for Racino.

Mike is a strong conservative, a small businessman from Waseca who understands the importance of lower taxes, limited government and economic opportunity, and the clear choice in this race.

The special election is fast approaching. With less than a month to campaign, we encourage all Young Republicans to contribute to his campaign in any way possible. We have scheduled a road trip for January 16th and 17th to drive to Owatonna and campaign for him. Please commit to joining us on this trip by emailing our chairman at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
