We met many great new Young Republicans we met down in Rochester at the State Convention. We're excited to get everybody together in person, and we have a few great events coming up for you to mark onto your calendars, including a big event in the works for early August.
 
New Member Welcome Happy Hour at Prachna on Main
 
Thursday, July 17, 6PM-8PM, Prachna on Main (117 Ortman St SE Minneapolis). 
 
A chance to meet all our new friends. We have a large room reserved at a venue that includes a walk-out patio and scenic views of downtown Minneapolis. This event is open to anybody and everybody, so bring all the friends you like! For more info, check out theFacebook event.

MNYR and the State GOP is teaming up with a premier dance club venue in Minneapolis for a night of outreach, networking, and salsa dancing. The event will include a private networking reception for dues paying MNYR members with several statewide candidates and elected officials. More details to come on this major event!
 
YR Member Training and Education Opportunity
 
Candidate and Activist Primer on Transportation with Frank Pafko
 
Tuesday, July 22, 6:30-9 PM, American Legion Post 435 (6501 Portland Ave, Richfield MN)
 
YR is co-sponsoring this great event planned by the SD63 GOP. "Up & at 'Em with Jack and Ben" Transportation Tsar and former MnDOT Manage Frank Pafko is leading a workshop for candidates and activists to learn the finer points of transportation policy and effective messaging. Master of Ceremonies

Sen. Branden Petersen – Member, Minnesota Senate (35), He serves on the Education Finance, Education Reform, and Property Tax committees. Much of Rep. Petersen's focus has been on ensuring every child has access to high quality public education.

Keynote Speaker

Gary Miller – Gary is a former member of the Minnesota Young Republicans and Social Media activist. His keynote address is entitled "Why I am no longer a Republican." A Q+A Session will follow what is expected to be a controversial, humorous, and insightful reflection on the Republican Party.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .  Positions, description and qualification requirements for positions are listed below

State Chair* – liaison with the Republican Party of Minnesota, the Governor’s office and National public officials (2 year term)

Deputy Chair* – liaison with all campaigns and all other state level public officials (1 year term)

Congressional District Chair – liaison with all Young Republican District Chairs (1 year term)

Membership Chair – liaison with all new members, drive new member recruitment and liaison with MNGOP affiliates – (1 year term)

Treasurer – responsible for managing and distributing MNYR funds - (1 year term)

Committee Woman – represent MNYR at the national level – (2 year term)

Minimum qualifications are you need at least one year’s YR membership under your belt and are a dues-paying member

*Only those who have served on the MNYR State Executive Board for a minimum of 1 year are eligible to run for this position.
