Chairman's Note:

A fellow Young Republican (our friend Wendy Haney) has recently been taken ill through a series of strokes but is stable.  Currently her husband Zeb (CD 3 Vice Chair) is looking for those that can possibly drop off meals for his children while he tends to his wife.  If you're feeling charitable, please go to this site and note a date to drop off (though dates are filling quickly).  You can drop Zeb a note at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. From Nate Proano / Campaign Chair PDF Print E-mail
With the conclusion of the 2010 Republican State Convention, we now have a full slate of endorsed candidates who will be on the ballot this November. With the DFL Party having a competitive three-way primary to determine their gubernatorial candidate, we have a chance to get a head start in campaigning for our GOP UNITY TICKET! Here are the endorsed GOP Candidates running for each statewide office and where to go for more info about them:

Governor & Lt Governor - Tom Emmer & Annette Meeks (TEAM)
Website: http://www.facebook.com/l/059d4;www.EmmerForGovernor.com

Attorney General - Chris Barden
Website: http://www.facebook.com/l/059d4;www.looktruenorth.com/component/content/article/117-Minnesota%20State%20Offices/12168-chris-barden-for-attorney-general-press-conference.html

Secretary of State - Dan Severson
Website: http://www.facebook.com/l/059d4;www.DanSeverson.com

State Auditor - Pat Anderson
Website: http://www.facebook.com/l/059d4;www.PatAndersonForAuditor.com

With this strong slate of candidates we are in a great position to win this November! We also have a lot of endorsed candidates in local races all over the state for the MN House and Senate that are going to help us take control of those bodies as well. This includes many MNYR members running for those offices. As the Deputy Chair/Campaign Chair for the Minnesota Young Republicans I could not be more excited!

We will have many opportunities to work on many campaigns from now until November. To help us sort through all the work that needs to be done, I will be organizing campaign meetings for all YR’s (and anyone else who wants to help) in each of the Metro Area Congressional Districts (CDs 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6) and CDs 1 and 7 over the next month or so. The purpose of these meetings will be to find out how we can most effectively work in each CD from the people who know it best. This would mean that we make sure the Congressional District Chairs and state party field staff attend these meetings to give us their insight on how we can be most effective. I hope that all candidates or a representative of their campaigns can come speak to us as well. I will be asking where possible for the Chairs of the Local YR Clubs to assist in planning these meetings.

What I ask of all members is that you make every effort to attend the campaign meeting in your CD and commit to coming out to as many campaign events as possible. This works best when we have as many of you involved and engaged as possible. I am looking forward to a great year for GOP campaigns and I hope you are as well.

Sincerely,

Nate Proano
